With key contacts at the council changing several times over this period, consistency mattered. Staff needed to trust that the people supporting them understood their work environment.
We carefully selected experienced clinicians from our network to provide specialist support in the region. Weekly onsite support was available to all staff across multiple locations for 18 months, with learning and development and leadership support added as needs emerged. The same dedicated team of clinicians stayed with the council over three years, moving to phone counselling when natural disasters left communities isolated.
Staff feedback remained consistently positive, and the council has continued the partnership. Having the same clinicians in place over several years meant support stayed familiar and trusted, at a time when incidents were felt across the workforce and the communities they live and work in.
If a traumatic event has impacted your team, AccessEAP’s Critical Incident Response service provides urgent support. Our clinicians are available 24/7 to help your employees recover.
